Default what to do with runes?

So I have a bunch of runes, some multiples. What should I do with them? Should I just sell them? Or hold onto them just in case I play another character that could use them? Once I've unlocked a "Rune of Minor Healing", or whatever, additional runes don't really do me much good, right?

Also, let's say I already have a "Rune of Minor Hammer Mastery"...and I come across something that has that rune locked. What should I do? Sell that to somebody who hasn't unlocked the rune yet? Unlock the rune, and just sell it?

I have lots of runes taking up inventory, that's why I ask.

If you don't need them for your characters then sell them. For the most part minor and major runes are not worth a lot, check the rune trader to see what they sell for to give you an indication of what they will buy them for. Sometimes you get more money by selling the armor they come in to the merchant than you do for the rune to the rune trader.

If you wish to hassle with selling to players, go for it. Other than the superiors, you prolly won't get much.

It depends, if your going to actually use the rune in the near future then go ahead and hold onto them. But lets say you have a W/Mo and you got a mesmer rune, it would be worthless to you unless you made a mesmer. but likely if your asking what to do with them, you should probably just focus on the character you have now. So keep the ones that could be of use to you, sell the ones that dont. if you have duplicates of a rune, say you had two minor vigors, go ahead and keep them because later in the game you might want to have a 2nd armor set in addition to your first (so you can switch between the two), and you might want that 2nd rune on the 2nd set.

When you identify a rune it becomes "unlocked" for whoever identifies it. This is a one time event. once it is identified and unlocked, it cannot be identified and unlocked by another player. This is why there is a thriving market on selling unidentifieds. If you already have a rune that you've unlocked, its the same thing as before, sell it if you dont have a use for it, or keep it if you do. for now, its best for you to just identify the runes you get for yourself and sell them to the trader (or people) identified. the people who sell unidentified usually farm to sell them and they likely have all the runes unlocked that they want, hence not needing to unlock them.

hope this wasnt too confusing
